Project Background
In the second half of last year, an industrial robot manufacturer sought our expertise to machine flexible gears for their harmonic reducers. The specifications required:
- Material: 20CrMnTi
- Gear shape tolerance: GB/T 10095.1-2008, grade 6 precision
- Hardness: HRC58-62
- Monthly demand: 200 pieces
Customer's Challenges
Harmonic reducers are critical components in industrial robots, and the customer needed extremely high gear precision. The previous supplier struggled with maintaining consistent accuracy, leading to reduced reducer lifespan. They required a reliable supplier for high-precision gears.
Our Solution
With over ten years of experience in precision gear machining, our process involved:
- Forging blanks → Normalizing → Rough machining → Hobbing → Carburizing and quenching → Finishing.
- Gear grinding using high-precision machines to achieve grade 6 accuracy.
- Gear inspection with a dedicated measuring center to check parameters like pitch, tooth form, and tooth direction.
We also optimized the gear design, reducing machining stresses and enhancing gear lifespan.
